If you're unsure where to start, we have a couple recommendations for streaming equipment and setup. Please keep in mind that our recommendations are for streaming on one site.
COMPUTERS
We can recommend the following computer devices/brands, as long as the model you choose has access to USB ports, which can be found on Amazon at a low cost with quick shipping:
- Asus ChromeBook
- Acer ChromeBook
- MacBook Neo - this device also supports OBS usage for your streams.
WEBCAMS
If you want a better quality webcam than what is built-in to your device, we recommend the following:
KEYBOARD
Here is a good quality keyboard that will allow you flexibility and movement, and keep you from getting tangled up in cords:
LIGHTING
Lighting is one of the most important aspect of your setup!
You may already have lamps or other lights in your home that will work great. LED lights are very bright and do not give off heat so you will be much more comfortable under them. We recommend a Light Bar, and you can string multiple together.
You may also like a Professional Portrait Studio Lighting Kit or a simple Ring Light.
You want to set up your studio with minimum shadows, so make sure to have more than 1 light source, ensuring to keep the light above you. Try to avoid lighting from below, as this can give a "scary" effect.
SPEAKERS
The most successful models have their audio on, having a good time. Music is a great way to set the vibe. We recommend these speakers:
COMPLETE SETUP
Putting together a great studio involves multiple components. We have found that physically attaching them to a mobile cart works great.
- Mobile Cart - Everything is zip tied to this making it easily movable.
- Zip Ties or Velcro Ties are user to attach each component to the cart
- Some components may not easily attach to a cable tie - these two zip tie adhesives will fix that issue: adhesive mounts & hooks.
- Power Strip - Think about your setup and the length of extension cord you might need, as 1 cord running from the rig to the wall is optimal.
